I am very pleased to have been selected as recipient of this years SSA New Graduate Award.
The Society of Scottish Artists is an artist-led, non-profit organisation, which was founded in 1891. It holds its Annual Open Exhibition presenting a showcase of the best of contemporary art to an audience of over 11,000 people.
This year, the 118th Annual Exhibition of the Society of Scottish Artists will occupy the majority of the RSA Upper Galleries, Edinburgh during December 2015 and January 2016.
I am both honoured and delighted that my degree show has been selected for the Edinburgh Collage of Art Purchase Prize. This means the four photographs and the video featured in my graduate exhibition will now become part of Edinburgh University’s Art Collection.
One of the largest and most prestigious in Scotland, the collection holds over 7,000 works by artists including Picasso, Raeburn, Giambologna and Max Ernst, among many others. It is open to the public and used regularly in exhibitions and in teaching.
The ECA Collections Purchase Prize has been running since 2013 to collect work by outstanding final year students.
